Check out this easy to make outdoor waterproof nautical fish art. Great for display on exterior walls, fences or gates.

The finished product can be a great addition to any home with a nautical decor. These Drink Coasters are great gifts for anyone who loves the ocean or just enjoys maritime history.

After coating all of the tiles with epoxy, set the project aside for 48 hours to allow for adequate drying.  Image depicts two sets of coasters created from the same Shipwreck Chart Poster. On the left is the burnt edge and next to it the straight edge.

One plastic spoon full seems to be the perfect amount of epoxy for each 4x4 tile. Pour the epoxy in the middle of the tile and then use the spoon to spread it out so it covers all of the paper square  but does not drip over the edge of the tile.

The two part epoxy is really the secret for long lasting durable coasters. Make sure your mix according to the directions on the box. The epoxy we used requires and accurate two part mix and rigorous stirring for two full minutes.

Drying takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

After letting the Mod Podge dry coat the chart squares with a top coat of Mod Podge. Once again let this layer dry completely before moving on to the epoxy coating.

Paper squares can be left with a straight edge or the edges can be burnt for a more rustic look.

Coat each tile with Mod Podge then apply each squar of paper. Press all edges and try to work out any creases or bubles.

All you need to get started is 4x4 ceramic tiles, Mod Podge, and Two part Epoxy. We used "pour-on".  The Shipwreck Chart posters are from www.aquaexplorers.com and are available for a variety of costal areas.

Start by cutting squares out of your chart of choice. The paper squares should be about 1/8 -1/4" smaller then the tiles.
